I know who I want to be the SoapStar!

Alright I admit it; I am kind of addicted to I Wanna Be a SoapStar. Especially since they are casting for my favorite soap opera, Days of Our Lives. Okay so I’ve watched every other season and picked Beth Ann last season from first episode and was totally outraged when they picked Mikey instead. (Sidenote: Look at who is on the show now, suckers! They should’ve listened to me.)

From day one I picked Monica. Whoops! She got voted off pretty fast. It wasn’t too bad since she wasn’t that great of an actress. I freely admit that I might’ve been influenced by the fact that she was the adorable young ingénue type. Plus at the time she was the only one I could picture actually interacting with the cast.

Now as the contestants get whittled down, a new favorite has emerged. Jimena! Suddenly, I’m writing stories for the girl in my head. Since Sami is annoying the crap out of me with the whole VENDETTA, I’m actually looking forward to her and Lucas inevitable breakup. Then maybe he will stop yelling so much. Then maybe a he can get over his broken heart with the help of a foreign beauty, Gia. Gia was Anna DiMera’s top model for her line of clothing and has come to Salem to help Anna reinvent her company. It is here where she discovers that her former love EJ is already in town.

While she is in the lead for favorite, I wouldn’t mind Yves. Cause let’s face it, he’s hot! Just don’t let him play drunk because while they all praised his over the top bit, I thought he was channeling I Am Sam! However, I could totally see him being Professor Wyatt at Salem U who is being stalked by a student and Billie is called in to investigate. We could do a whole reverse Roman and Marlena sleeping on the floor thing. It’d be great. Billie needs some loving on that show besides her daughter’s boyfriend.

While I haven’t been too much of a fan of Justin’s, he did help me discover one thing: Martha Madison can act. During their scene together, I even saw a flicker of, could it be, CHEMISTRY? I had to rewind their scene together to make sure my eyes weren’t deceiving me. Why is she unable to do that with either of her already gorgeous cast mates? It could also make me possibly like the whole Nursing School storyline I’m not looking forward to. While in nursing school Belle is partnered with sweet and charming Hunter whose troubled past intrigues Belle. His tattoos and plentiful ab muscles also intrigue her as she catches him shirtless quite a lot.

I’m sure Ashelee is a very sweet girl but I won’t be sad if she gets voted off next week. Her look is very soap opera in that schemeing backstabbing beyotch sort of way. But seriously, we have enough of those on Days. Plus I actually agree with the judges that her acting is too planned and forced. But if she does win maybe she can come on as an ISA agent who rehires Jett and then takes him off to a faraway land. She can take him anywhere actually, as long as it’s not Salem. Was anyone else kind of bummed that he survived the gunshot wound?

Flashbacks Galore - What a Bore It Made Me Snore!

Why is "Days of our Lives" reverting back to filling time with flashbacks? Every episode last week had at least two flashbacks. I was starting to think we were going to have a flashback from an inanimate object or, perish the thought, a gloved hand again!

Seriously, we do not need a flashback of something that happened like an hour ago? I understand if it was from an episode a week ago, but for the most part, they used one from the day before! We got it. We saw the episode. Who cares if someone missed a day, the viewers are (mostly) smart enough to figure it out!

Oh and how long has Roman been buried alive with no oxygen? I mean Sydney Bristow almost didn't survive her premature burial and she was under there for like 10 hours. How long has Roman been under? He should be dead by now, I'm sure, but whatever I can let that go. What I can't let go is the fact that Bo thinks letters will tell them where Roman is, how the heck will letters written 50 years or so ago help find Roman?!? That is insane!

Anyway, here is an example of how a flashback should be used and a way to figure out where Roman is:
In Monday's episode Bo and Abe had this exchange:



Bo : Hey, man. I followed André down to the piers near the old warehouses.









Abe : You know, the clock's ticking on Roman. You be careful.

Now if Bo had added that Andre was wearing Willy's (the police officer) outfit.

Then, Abe could have reacted and had a flashback to when he let Andre, who he thought was Willy, take the coffin to the burial site. And made a remark like "oh no, that is the time Roman disappeared. Maybe it was Andre that I sent to the burial site. Maybe it wasn't an empty coffin we buried." Dramatic music plays…See now, wouldn't that be a logical thought process and good use of a flashback?

Oh and another thing. Is anyone concerned about Willy? Is he alive? Did Andre really kill him or just knock him out? Is anyone searching for him?

Questions of the Week?

Why is Kate a moron?

As Andre is breaking into the Pub and Kate just stands there screaming. How about running into the kitchen? How about running up those stairs that seem to lead to wherever Carolyn and Shawn sleep? How about trying to block the door with some tables and chairs? How about doing ANYTHING other than standing there screaming?


Was Shawn hitting on Kate?

I think I threw up in my mouth a little when Shawn while berating Kate said, “You’re a sexy woman!” What was that about?

Is Hogan Sheffer trying to give us a heart attack?

Why does Stephanie insist on making out with her UNCLE?

This week they did a lot more than kiss. Thankfully for us, Bo and Kayla showed up just before they sealed the deal. And for some reason Kayla didn’t think anything was wrong with her brother and daughter doing this
